HOMO IRREALIS

Hello!
Welcome to Homo Irrealis, a blog inspired by André Aciman's collection of essays: "Homo Irrealis" - "good poets borrow, great poets steal," as one of my professors likes to say. I'd like to think of this as somewhere in the middle between borrowing and stealing, mostly because my self-consciousness and paranoia regarding plagiarism will feel better that way. :) Aciman's essays are a collection of thoughts on the passage of time, affected by a tone of wistfulness as he contemplates what could have been in his life. Here, I would like to explore the possibilities of those "what if's", reflect on my efforts to break free of comfortability, and do away with complicity in my own age-old struggles. I am also excited to share the interesting and important things I am learning and have learned at university, so many of which have changed me as a person and oriented the world around me in a way that makes life so much richer.
